I am using esp8266 basic on them and it works like a charm. Note that I think it has 1 MByte flash, after flashing with esp8266 basic 512KB flash left. Reception/Transmition is very goodbetter than my good quality cell phone. 1. Very small, size is aproximatelysize of 1 Euro 2. Use ESP-07 specific pin configuration; a. GPIO 15 always tied to GND (normal operation and flashing modes) b. CH_PD always tied to Vcc (3.3V) (normal operation and flashing modes) c. Only for flashing connect GPIO0 to GND d. No need to connect RST pin in normal operation and flashing, you may keep it floating.
